Therapy

If you are one of those people who would stand in line to get the newest iPhone, learning about K-Laser is just up your alley. Whenever you can find technology that helps you do things in a new way, or faster and better, you’re ready to try it out. This Class IV laser is a new way to help you heal from foot problems faster and better, so what are you waiting for?

What’s Your Problem?

Because this type of laser therapy uses various wavelengths of light from 600 to 100 nanometers (nm), it can reach a variety of tissues in your body—from skin and fat, to muscle and tendon, even down into your bone tissue. Therefore, rather than talk about which foot problems it can treat, it is more helpful to highlight the effects it has on tissue. Here is a brief explanation of results from the following red and near-infrared wavelength light treatments:

660nm

At this level, the effects are concentrated in the superficial tissues. Since the light inhibits bacteria growth, it can help your body fight off infection. (Remember how fungus and bacteria like the dark, warm, moist environment of sweaty feet in shoes, leading to fungal nails and athlete’s foot? This therapy sheds light on those problems—literally.) The light also increases your normal cell function, so they repair themselves and divide and grow more readily. These results promote wound healing, so the treatments can be effective for diabetic ulcers on your feet or other injuries.

800nm

This level is prime for absorption by the enzyme that promotes the conversion of oxygen to adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is how your cells store and use energy. When your cells effectively convert and use ATP, they function better. The result is less inflammation and swelling, and therefore less pain. This is true whether it is a skin wound or involves muscle, tendon, or nerve degeneration. The cells heal quicker, so the tissues become strong and healthy again. You can cut down the healing time for infections, sprains, strains, even surgery recovery, because the tissues repair themselves faster.

905nm

Oxygen absorbs best at this level, and this element is a necessary fuel for cell activity. When more of it is made available in your bloodstream, more is delivered to the cells. This increases your body’s natural healing processes, and helps all your cells to function as they should.

970nm

At this wavelength, water absorbs the photons very well. During the process, heat is generated, and warmer cells stimulate circulation in the tiniest of blood vessels and capillaries, bringing oxygen-rich blood more deeply into the tissues.
