Biography
Dr Robert G. Parker is a third-generation Houstonian and has practiced in Houston since 1970. He was the first board certified podiatric surgeon by examination, and served as an examiner on the American Board of Podiatric Surgery for 14 years. He has also served on the examination committee of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and was a co-founder of the Harris County Podiatric Medical Residency Program.
Dr. Parker's numerous professional affiliations include past president of the Southwest Division of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons, and membership in the Harris County Podiatric Medical Association, Texas Podiatric Medical Association, and American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also a Diplomate in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Keeping up-to-date with the latest treatments for foot health is very important to him, and Dr. Parker continually attends medical seminars to learn new procedures to benefit the patient. Some of these procedures include ankle arthroscopy, OssaTron orthotripsy treatment for the relief for heel pain, Co² and Flashlamp laser surgery, and advanced training for peripheral nerve surgery and the relief of neuropathies.
For relaxation, you can find Dr. Parker in the air as a pilot where he is rated for single, multiengine and instruments; or enjoying wooden boats. His other activities include playing the guitar and his love of wine.
Dr. Parker resides in Houston with his wife Pamella and their sons, two fourth-generation Houstonians, Sean and Cameron.
